Seijas’ former business partner, Michael Ackerman, pleaded guilty to fraud related to his involvement in a phony cryptocurrency scam.
In 2020, it was alleged that James Seijas solicited investors to invest in a cryptocurrency called Q3 or Q3 Crypto. Q3 has alleged to have been a Ponzi scheme, according to an action filed in the Middle District of Florida.
James Seijas was a registered representative of Wells Fargo Advisors from 2013 to March 2019. He has worked at branch offices in Short Hills, New Jersey.
Brokerage firms like Wells Fargo Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.
