THOMAS WATTS of Edward Jones Subject of Lithium Stock COMPLAINT

Standard Lithium Investment (SLI) Complaint Against Edward Jones Advisor Thomas Watts Jr.

EL DORADO, ARKANSAS     Are you a customer of Thomas Watts Jr., also known as Tombo Watts, with Edward Jones in El Dorado, Arkansas?  We have been contacted by a customer of Mr. Watts regarding investment losses in a stock called Standard Lithium Ltd.  Standard Lithium (stock symbol SLI) is a lithium mining company headquartered in British Columbia, but its main mine is in southern Arkansas, specifically El Dorado, Arkansas.

It has been alleged that Tombo Watts recommended an investment in Standard Lithium to an elderly Edward Jones customer.  The elderly investor alleges that the Standard Lithium investment was unsuitable.  The stock price of Standard Lithium peaked in October 2021 at $11.37 per share but has fallen considerably to $1.24 as of January 18, 2024.

As a stockbroker and licensed financial advisor, Thomas Watts Jr. was required to comply with FINRA Rule 2111, which requires advisors to make investment recommendations that are suitable for the customer considering their age, risk tolerance, investment objectives, and financial resources.  Additionally, FINRA requires that firms like Edward Jones sufficiently supervise their advisors.  If they do not, the brokerage firm can be liable for investor losses.
