Tony Kassaei, formerly with J.P. Turner, Barred by FINRA

Have you lost money with financial advisor Tony Kassaei, J.P. Turner, or Centaurus Financial?  We are looking into allegations made about Tony A. Kassaei from Irvine, California.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) barred Kassaei from the securities industry.  FINRA alleged that Kassaei sold $2.6 million in investments from Francisco Esparza, without disclosing such to his former brokerage firm, J.P. Turner.  Esparza pleaded guilty to fraud in 2018.

Tony Kassaei was a financial advisor and registered representative of J.P. Turner from 2009 to October 2015.  Kassaei was also with Centaurus Financial from October 2015 to March 2019.  He worked in a branch office in Irvine, California.  Kassaei has also been the subject of two tax liens.

Brokerage firms like J.P. Turner have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
