Benjamin Bourgeois, of Commonwealth Financial Network, Barred from Securities Industry
Have you lost money investing with Benjamin Bourgeois from Metairie, Louisiana? We are continuing to look into allegations made against Benjamin F. Bourgeois, Jr., formerly an advisor with Commonwealth Financial Network. FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) barred Bourgeois from the securities industry after he failed to respond to an investigation. Bourgeois was under investigation after a customer complained to he stole or converted customer funds.
In April 2019, Bourgeois was arrested and charged with theft, bank fraud, and exploitation of the inform, according to KALB. He was alleged to have stolen money from an elderly client.
Benjamin Bourgeois was a representative of Commonwealth Financial Network from May 2015 to April 2019. He also worked with LPL Financial from March 2014 to May 2015; and with Sterne Agee from 2009 to March 2014. He worked at a branch office in Metairie, Louisiana. Bourgeois has been the subject of three customer complaints and was terminated by Commonwealth Financial Network for this conduct.
Brokerage firms like Commonwealth Financial Network have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.
