Investigation of Michael Oppenheim and J.P. Morgan Securities

Have you lost money with financial advisor Michael Oppenheim from New York?  We are investigating allegations made by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who charged Michael Oppenheim with wire fraud, embezzlement, and securities fraud on April 15, 2015.  Oppenheim is accused of stealing $20 million from his clients, many of which held accounts with J.P. Morgan Securities, formerly known as Chase Investment Services.

Michael Oppenheim pled guilty in November 2015.  According to financialadvisoriq.com, Oppenheim faces up to 10 years in prison in an upcoming sentencing hearing.

Michael Oppenheim represented to some clients that he would invest their funds in low-risk municipal bonds.  Instead, he used the money for personal expenses, including a home loan.  It was alleged that Oppenheimer sometimes just withdrew money from the customer’s account without their knowledge or authorization.  The alleged scheme took place between March 2011 and March 2015.  Oppenheim’s criminal complaint was filed in the Southern District of New York in Manhattan, case number 15-mj-1255.

Michael Oppenheim was a financial advisor and registered representative of J.P. Morgan Securities from October 2012 to March 2015, and with Chase Investment Services from 2004 to October 2012.  He worked at a branch office in New York City.  He was arrested at his home in Livingston, New Jersey on April 16, 2015.
