Darrin Farrow and Royal Alliance Associates
Have you lost money with financial advisor Darrin Farrow of Rocky River, Ohio? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Darrin B. Farrow. FINRA suspended Farrow from the securities industry for 12 months for selling investments without approval from his brokerage firm, Royal Alliance Associates, during 2015.
FINRA alleged that Darrin Farrow founded a company called MAD Farmaceuticals (also called “MAD Farma”) and another called MAD Oregon, LLC, which were both alleged to have engaged in cannabis production and manufacturing. Farrow was alleged to have solicited six Royal Alliance customers to invest a total of $1 million in MAD Oregon during 2015 without disclosing such to Royal Alliance. To settle these allegations, Farrow agreed to a 12-month suspension and to pay a $25,000 fine.
Darrin Farrow was a financial advisor and registered representative of Royal Alliance Associates from February 2010 to June 2015 and with Triad Advisors from June 2015 to May 2016. He worked at a branch office in Rocky River, Ohio. Farrow has been the subject of at least one customer complaint.
Brokerage firms like Royal Alliance Associates have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
