Norma Skeete and PFS Investments
Have you lost money with financial advisor Norma Skeete of Camp Springs, Maryland? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Norma Skeete. FINRA alleged that Norma Skeete solicited an investor to invest $160,000 in a North Carolina real estate venture, representing that it was “safe” in an email. Skeete represented that the investment would pay back the principal within 5 weeks and that the investor would get 12% interest. To settle these claims, Skeete agreed to a fine of $2,500 and a 20-day suspension from the securities industry.
Norma Skeete was a financial advisor and registered representative of PFS Investments from 1984 to October 2011. She has not been licensed in the securities industry since 2011. She worked at a branch office in Camp Springs, Maryland.
Brokerage firms like PFS Investments have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies, such as refraining from selling investments and securities that are not approved by the firm. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
