Perry S. Abbonizio and Wells Fargo Advisors
Have you lost money with financial advisor Perry Stephen Abbonizio? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Perry Abbonizio, from Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. FINRA alleges that Abbonizio participated in private securities transactions without approval from his securities brokerage firm, Wells Fargo Advisors. FINRA alleges that Abbonizio solicited about 10 customers of Wells Fargo to invest a combined $625,000 in three separate private placements. Abbonizio was also alleged to have referred potential employees to these companies in exchange for shares of stock in these companies.
FINRA fined Abbonizio $10,000 for this conduct and suspended him for 4 months. Wells Fargo investigated this conduct in April 2011 and allowed him to “voluntarily” resign from the company.
Perry S. Abbonizio was a financial advisor and registered representative of Wells Fargo Advisors from March 2008 to April 2011. He also worked with Oppenheimer & Co. from April 2011 to January 2015. He worked at branches offices in Conshohocken and Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Abbonizio’s BrokerCheck report also discloses that he has been the subject of at least three customer complaints.
Brokerage firms like Wells Fargo Advisors and Oppenheimer have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
