Edward Jones Subject of Arkansas Complaint Regarding Supervision of William Black

 

Have you lost money with financial advisor William Black of Malvern, Arkansas?  We are investigating allegations made by the Arkansas Securities Department.  Arkansas alleged that Edward Jones failed to reasonably supervise William “Ken” or “Kinney” Black.

 

Arkansas alleged that Black was placed on heightened supervision over allegations that he was excessively trading customers’ accounts.  Arkansas alleged that despite being on heightened supervision by Edward Jones, Black continued an inappropriate trading strategy for several clients.  Edward Jones was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.

 

William Black was a financial advisor and registered representative of Edward Jones from 2000 to September 2015.  He worked at branch offices Malvern, Arkansas.   He has been the subject of at least two customer complaints, and he was also fired by Edward Jones in 2015.

 

Brokerage firms like Edward Jones have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
